I’ve been up half the night with a sick kid. Ended up sleeping in one of the kid’s beds while they slept in our bed.
Could have been worse. One time our oldest daughter, maybe not quite two years old, puked in our bed several times throughout the night. By the end of the night, we had no more clean sheets, and resorted to using just blankets and towels.

I smile, because as a parent, we’ve all been there.
When I was little, and sick in the night, there was always a bucket or plastic trash can by the bed to puke in. After using it, the bucket would disappear, only to reappear clean for another use. It wasn’t until I became a parent that I realized there was no magical puke bucket fairy.
And, you also know you’re a parent when you get puked on. Our boys had a stomach thing, and I picked one of them up in the morning out of the crib. He seemed pretty happy, and I thought that maybe it was all over. He then proceeded to puke all over me and down my back. I could hear it splatting on the floor. And all I could do was stand there and take it.
Yes, the joys of parenthood.

And that folks is where the idea to use a plunger on your trumpet had its genesis. Next week we pick back up with mouthpieces.
